The Wardrobe Story ― The Story of a Piece

“More than just warmth—comfort that embraces you.”

The IROS hoodie features a relaxed silhouette and a three-dimensional, prominent hood that makes a statement. Its substantial weight and soft brushed lining gently wrap around the body, providing a sense of warmth and reassurance even when worn alone during winter.

But what we value most is not simply clothing for cold weather. What we aim to deliver is a garment that grows with you. Each hand-dyed color carries its own unique individuality. The more you wear it, the more the color adapts to you, evolving into an expression that is entirely your own.

“Bringing beauty into everyday life—something mass production can never replicate.”

The Color Story ― The Story Behind the Hue

“Choosing gray, yet never just gray.”

The only dye used is soot. While the color may seem simple, each piece has a subtle depth thanks to the unique variations left by hand-dyeing.

This gray blends effortlessly with any outfit, yet it continues to exist as your own piece. Creating a color that never grows boring, using a method that never tires—this is how IROS approaches gray.

– What We Value –

At IROS DYEING, our hand-dyed creations celebrate the beauty of colors born from nature.
Using natural dyes such as bengara (iron-rich clay), soot, and Indian indigo, we pursue the ideal hues through repeated testing, carefully dyeing each piece one by one. Every color that emerges carries a unique expression—no two are ever the same.

We also carefully select fabrics that are best suited for dyeing, ensuring that even after the process, the garments maintain a soft touch and high durability. Each piece is made to accompany you in daily life while gaining depth and character as the years go by.

In addition, our brand labels and embroidery are entrusted to skilled artisans working on Okinawa’s main island. Walking together with our local community is an essential part of who we are.

Moving forward, we remain committed to creating pieces that stand in contrast to mass production and fleeting trends. With the spirit of our local makers at heart, we strive to deliver authentic works that will be cherished for years to come.

『Susu‑zome (Soot Dyeing)』
A dye made from soot produced by burning pine. “Soot” is carbon formed by the incomplete combustion of organic material and serves as the base for traditional ink. We mix pine‑soot pigment with natural starch paste to create the dye. Dissolve a small amount in water, knead thoroughly, and you’ll achieve a rich, expressive black. By kneading the smoked soot into the fabric, you can enjoy its deep, layered hues.

◾️ Lead Time
Since we hand‑dye every piece after an order is placed, please allow 3–4 weeks for shipping. Delays may occur due to inclement weather or peak seasons. Thank you for your understanding.

◾️ Care Instructions
※ Each item is hand‑dyed, so slight variations in measurements, unevenness, or color tone compared to product photos may occur. We hope you enjoy these nuances as part of its charm.

※ When washing, please note the following:

1 If stains or dirt appear, rinse immediately with water or soapy water before drying, or gently blot with a damp towel or tissue. Avoid scrubbing, as this may cause color loss.

2 For machine washing, we recommend placing items in a laundry net. For hand washing, gently wash in lukewarm water with a small amount of detergent to help preserve the color.

3 To prevent color transfer, wash separately from other garments for the first few washes.
